While everyone wants to be that one person known for excellence, not everyone will be willing to pay the price to be an indispensable employee.

But for those who are willing to be that go-to person in their organization here are some game changing tips:

 

1.Be dependable: This covers your attitude to work, effectiveness, punctuality …

Can you be trusted to do your job and do it well and also be timely about carrying that work out?

Okay, you haven’t been really dependable right?

Then start now!

2.Grow : Knowledge is attractive! Learn something that will make your work better.

It could be a technical, creative or people skill (depending on the nature of your work). Just learn something and be an expert at it!

Expand your knowledge base and practicalise what you have learnt.

This leads to the next tip which is,

3.Take up new challenges: Do not avoid challenges instead take them up. Dare to use a new app,a new method a new style…

Leaving your comfort zone is most likely not a exciting venture but it is worth while as it enriches you with experience and additional skills .

4.Volunteer: An employee who is willing to embark on projects in the organization voluntarily shows that he prioritizes the goals of the organization.

Volunteering is an indicator of selflessness amongst other things. Who wouldn’t want a selfless employee?

So, you may ask yourself, What’s of utmost importance to my company right now? How can I be a part of it? In what capacity can I volunteer?

One thing you should know is that no one gets ahead by  doing  casual work. It is exceptional attitude to work that brings about exceptional attention and reward.

Most times it isn’t how many years you have put into a job that matters but how effective you have been at work.

In conclusion,you may pick any of these tips and focus on carrying it out, then proceed to another. In no time you will have made a reputation for yourself as an employee with a difference.
