A party agnostic non-governmental organization advancing the participation and representation of women in politics and public life through behavioral change communications, capacity development, community building, tech innovation, and increased access to social, human, and financial capital.
The Advocacy and Communications Lead will drive the conceptualization to implementation of strategic communications and advocacy, drive visibility action for solo and consortium projects, thought leadership, as well as the local and global positioning of the organization. The Advocacy and Communications Lead will also lead and work closely with both internal and external communication consultants.
Qualifications and experience:
Master’s degree in Development Communication, Public relations, or related field.
At least 6 years of progressive experience in PR, Development Communications, or Media Relations, which must include supervisory experience.
NGO-related experience in the Media & Communications department with a reputable CSO, INGO, and public sector organization is an added advantage
Experience conceptualizing and directing successful, evidence-driven advocacy campaigns to advance public policy goals
Experience in multi-stakeholder partnership management and coalition-building
Experience in digital campaigning, grounded in a strong understanding of how digital tools, platforms, and storytelling can be used to advance campaign goals, and applying best practice digital analytics to track campaign effectiveness and impact
Experience designing and delivering targeted media campaigns and outstanding relationships with relevant international, pan-African, and national media
Experience in analyzing emerging trends and opportunities, and building strategies and tactics for global, regional, and national campaigns and mobilization
Experience and ease working in a fast-paced environment
