We get to some point (especially when we become graduates) and we are not sure what next step to take.
Should I look for a job or should I further my academics? The confusion get worse if you finished with a low degree honors.
There are things to consider before making your decision to futher your academics such as funding, your age, your flair or interests amongst others.
Having decided you are cut out for academics, you may further your education by gaining additional advanced certifications or go for Post Graduate Studies.
POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA
You may want to pursue a postgraduate diploma. This advanced degree is available in a wide range of areas such as science, business, technology, arts and humanities.
A postgraduate diploma is a shorter qualification than a masters degree, although at the same academic level. The biggest difference between a postgraduate diploma and a masters degree is that a postgraduate diploma doesn’t involve having to do a dissertation.
Post Graduate Diploma is also a way of upgrading (the Nigerian context) a low first degree Honors or a Higher National Diploma(H.N.D ) so as to move up to the Masters programme(MSC/M.A.).
Now, back to you wondering how you can further your studies with an HND or with a third class degree.Your best option is this same Post Graduate Diploma.

Also, for the University of Nigeria Nsukka, some selected courses accept a third class for the Post Graduate Diploma: HND in Home Science/Economics or relevant fields with a minimum of Upper Credit.
