How to Start Up a Fashion Business – NellyGrace Paschal

Nellygrace Chika Paschal.

Nellygrace Chika Paschal is a professional fashion designer and one of Owerri’s young leading entrepreneurs. She graduated from the Imo State University, Owerri with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater and film studies. Though not moving entirely in sync with the course she studied like many Nigerian graduates, Nellygrace Paschal has made a name for herself in the fashion business.

She is the CEO of Nellygrace Collections, a fashion brand that deals with Bespoke Ankara wears, bridal wears,  asoebi dresses,costuming,  and many more.  In her journey if being an entrepreneur and business woman, she has gone through the pots and hurdles of becoming a young successful entrepreneur in Nigeria. If you need a run down of the experience and journey hers will be highly relatable.

As the saying goes, never neglect the power of small beginnings, and that great things starts from small beginnings. Nellygrace grew up as child who had always loved fashion designing and started  making dresses with needle and thread having zero knowledge of the art of making female wears. Then later during the 2013 ASUU strike, she used the opportunity to learn tailoring from a road side artesian. Armed with the knowledge she had gained she began to make dresses for students and costumes for theatre production. Little by little she grew from tailoring in a self con which was house cum workspace. In 2016, when she finally graduated she decided to stay back in IMO state and focus on her fashion career.

Being dedicated and hardworking she didn’t stop there as the dream was a bigger picture. She moved on to master the art of fashion designing and become a professional. She furthered her studying in standard fashion schools in Lagos and Owerri, which are Needle Craft Fashion School and Omalified Fashion school respectively.

In her career development CEO Nellygrace Collections has engaged in seminars to empower students and was also a participant in the 2018 Nigerian Student Fashion and Design Week which was held in the Federal Palace Hotel VI, Lagos.

Today, Nellygrace Paschal is not just a fashion designer but she is also an employer of labour and the owner of Nellygrace Fashion School which now has over 20 students and counting. Like every entrepreneur she doesn’t wish to stop here since the dream has a bigger picture, as a young female entrepreneur she is heading to break limits in the fashion industry and the business world at large!
